The Water Cycle

The water cycle refers to how the earth's water is in constant movement, on, in and above the earth. When the water in our oceans is heated by the earth's sun it evaporates and rises as vapor into the air to where it cools and condenses to form clouds. The clouds are then moved by air around the globe. During this movement, cloud particles collide together and grow in size, when the cloud particles become too heavy precipitation occurs. Precipitation may take the form of rain, snow, sleet, or hail.

96% of the earth's water is found in the ocean.

Play the water cycle rap!

Have you wondered if there is life on other planets? Well scientists when searching the galaxy look first for signs of water. Water is vital for life!

Water is collected during the precipitation stage and stored into what is referred  as 'reservoirs'.
