Activity 1: Choose a range of books that students are not familiar with, read the title of the book to students and ask them to make a prediction about what the book is about. Then read the back cover of the book out loud to see how accurate they were with their predictions.
The books displayed would be suitable for upper primary year levels, however this activity would be suitable for all year levels in primary school
Activity 2: Read a section of text and then have students predict what is going to happen next. Have them write their predictions on sentence strips and place each prediction on the wall. Revisit the predictions once the action has been revealed in the story.
Making Predictions

Activity 3: Students write a short story and draw a picture representing the content of the text. Students then swap drawings with peers and they make predictions about their peers story based on the illustration.
